Well, apparently Steven Knight can do no wrong (especially around these parts, I am near Birmingham, UK), but he's an exceptional case of someone with average talent being in the right place at the right time. Peaky Blinders only ever won through via the charisma of its acting talent.

Anyone who says this has too much drama is an emotional cripple. The race and cars are nothing without the human factor. A long movie, but well-paced, and there's absolutely no navel-gazing. The stories of the major players are necessary to understand the sheer guts and determination to keep trying, where lesser people would've played safe.
