I watched the first episode of TWD on Halloween night when it started & was a faithful fan. Didn't watch Fear TWD after the first season, not wanting to follow another & I felt inferior spinoff. However, I agree with many that the show likely went on a couple of seasons too long. It might have wrapped up with the death of Rick, the main character & the one we followed most closely. It lost its vigor in the final couple of seasons. However, this series felt like the old show at its best. Rick & Michonne are icons, like Fred & Ethel or Astaire & Trigger. I am happy to give it an 8/10 — no, 8.5. As for the Daryl spinoff & the mess that was Negan & Maggie Adventure Hour... those both stunk on ice. They even brought in magical religion in the Daryl series. Unless the French govt dosed all the fresh water with mescaline, there was no excuse for such claptrap.
Epoch Times is a Russian bot site that makes right-wing propaganda films. If you sniff carefully, you can detect cheap vodka & traitor juice all over them. If there ever is an American civil war, it will be all the boners who fell for the Russian trash who cause the trouble. Vote all blue!
There are other horror/suspense movies like this one, but this is pretty good for the "keep the audience guessing" genre. Joely Richardson is usually reliable.
Geez, I can't stand anime. The jerky, crap animation, the ridiculous scripts, the pathetic voice actors. There is nothing about this Japanese trash that makes it worth watching.
The best movie ever made. It is, of course, a satire on Donny Trump Jr. & what he gets up to at Merd-a-Logo every weekend. And let's not forget Hillary!
Very good movie, thanks to the small but impressive cast. The director sure knows how to squeeze emotion from the many words & few actions in The Whale. A movie with a surprising end that seemed at the time abrupt, but in hindsight was great. Highly recommend. For all the haters, get over the homophobia (methinks you protest too much) & so-called anti-wokeness. The whole right-wing thang is hopefully over with the Chief Bigot & Fat-head about to be jailed. Nobody projects their own problems on others like the Trumpests & other reactionary fake-christian boobs & bores.
Nothing new, nothing special. The story has been done to death, at least as far back as Colossus: The Forbin Project. Maybe even all the way back to Fritz Lang's Metropolis. Anyway, this is instantly forgetable, so forget to watch it & save some time.
Overall, worth watching. Beautiful outdoor scenes, great conversations. But this is not as funny or tragic a black comedy as In Bruges (one of my favourites). I'm thinkin' it was a better stageplay than a movie. The playwright/screenwriter/director is great.
Gosling does a good job playing a guy whose pulse probably never rose above 60. Neil Armstrong carried the weight of a full moon on his shoulders for the rest of his life & as America's No. 1 astronaut he was a superstar. Gosling catches some of that. (As for those silly asses who think the moon landings were faked, a punch in the kisser, just as Buzz Aldrin gave to a dimwit who confronted him & called him a liar. Pow!)
Very entertaining, if a tad too long. Granted, it is not easy to get everything everywhere into one movie, but it stretched my patience. Other than that, it was something new, which is unusual these days. Not a single scene with Ironman.
I agree with Nick-Adventure. This is not a start-to-finish action flick. It takes some time & concentration to watch, but I found it to be good black comedy. I don't know why so many Trumpest anti-woke low-information yahoos denigrate something they must recognize as needing brainpower to enjoy. Why bother watching something that doesn't involve car crashes & submachine guns? For those with wrinkled brains, this is a weird & wild ride. Recommended.
