Competence p*rn at its best. Can lead to horrible disappointment, when you end up in the ER for an ingrown toenail, only to end up with an amputated foot (probably the wrong one) and a 500K dollar bill.
Action comedy a-la Guy Ritchie, very plot thin, basically carried by the performance and chemistry of the lead duo. Scott Adkins is surprisingly funny in this. If you like Adkins, you'll have a reasonably good time.
This is dogshit. A serious step down in quality. A few good kills, and that's it. Americans just don't understand Italy or basic geography. People go from Sicily to Rome on a bike like it's a 50 mile ride. Come on, what's this, the Pope's Exorcist? And the lady takes Denzel to dinner, to experience authentic sicilian food, and buys him a friggin' kebab? Help.
It's a cool concept, decently executed. You cannot reinvent the wheel in the zombie genre, just observe different perspectives, and tell personal stories. This little movie deserves our respect. Oh, it's depressive as f**k, so if misery-porn is your thing, dig in.
It's a good time.
It's tense, violent, but also very, very funny. Like early Guy Ritchie funny.
