I get it. It's not your typical Colombian production with the usual cliches... alright. Nevertheless i found the plot pretty weak and the acting just barely engaging... an IMDb score of 7.9 is way overrated in my opinion. 5.5 is my rating and i wouldn't really recommend it.
Dumbest plot ever. Kid takes his mentally ill mother from safety to the middle of the danger zone under pretext of finding a doctor although he was told that the man became insane long ago, putting himself, his mum and of course his dad along with whomever will try to search for them in obvious risk of being killed. Unbearably idiotic and unwatchable British nonsense.
Despite the animation style that looks like it came straight out of the 80's and seems to be aimed at the younger kids, this alternate take on the classic 'Journey To The West' is very fresh and shall appeal to audiences of all age groups with its most excellent humor. Flowing plot and pacing had me thoroughly entertained from beginning to end, which might have been made to open the route to a sequel. I, for one, will certainly look forward to it. 7/10. Very recommended.
This 10.7Gb encode resolution is 4K but it looks like a lousy 720p. Also has some Russian hardcoded subs here and there. Watchable but will be waiting for a real 4K to come out.
3 episodes in... as a matter of facts julien is right. This series manages to have not one but several of the worst characters ever written in TV history. Cate in particular is an absolute train wreck. oh my! every time she opens her mouth i wanna punch the screen. I love monster features so i keep thinking it's worth watching for that alone but let's be realistic, i am just deceiving myself here and should just quit already, for my screen's sake.
After watching Avatar 3 i couldn't help but re-watch the first two. Now i too can't wait for the next installment to be available. The fact that these movie are rated less than 8 on IMDb is a clear sign that modern audiences are hopelessly rotten. Way to go J. Cameron, humanity don't deserve the masterpiece that is Avatar.
Watching this 3rd installment of Avatar is a whole experience and emotional roller-coaster. I pity those who couldn't let the magic work and ended up making up some absurd criticism instead. 'Graphics look like a 2010 computer game'... 'Cameron continue his own superhero saga. Sorry avatar saga'. I guess these people forgot to turn back their brains on after they had to shut it off in order to gulp down the Marvel movies of late. Too bad really. Don't be like them. Avatar is on a whole different level with a story that only cold-hearted materialists wouldn't feel profound and deeply relatable. The graphics and depictions of Pandora are just awe inspiring. The characters arc are engrossing. Nothing short of a masterpiece in league with the LOTR trilogy.
If that's what stands for a good comedy by American standards nowadays - judging by the 7.2 IMDb score - then i really feel sorry for them. Boy that thing is so cringe. 4.5/10
From the previous comments here it looks like u may not enjoy this movie for what it is if u live in the UK. ;-) But if u are from anywhere else in the vast world i warmly recommend it as it will almost certainly satisfy your need for a well crafted, well acted movie about a seldom covered demographic, namely the English Rom (Gypsy) community. I can't say how accurately historical the plot is - if at all - but the end credits make a reference to the bombing of Birmingham by the Nazi aviation and dedicates the film to a number of workers at a small arm factory who died that day. It currently scores a 7 on IMDb and that may be a tad high. I rate it at 6.5.
At long last a comedy that doesn't merely pretend to be funny. That one is a real joyride and as usual when we have fun time flies by and indeed this movie did not feel at all like it ran for over 2 hours. My only gripe was with the way it ended, i thought it was rushed and messy... could have been done better but that might be just my opinion. Excellent cast with adequate acting skills... must have been fun to work with this bunch during the filming too. One of the few recent movies i wanna keep on a hard disc to watch again sometimes next year... 7.5/10 Highly recommended.
It is better than i anticipated. Nothing ground-breaking but the plot is original enough and the way the stories intertwined gave the final act a sense of meaning that tied everything together nicely. I give it a well deserved 6.5. Recommended. P.S: Clearly ppl from the US commenting on this site have serious mental health issues. ;-)
At the end i am glad i sat through this movie just to imbibe the ambient score by J. Jarmusch himself as it was intended to be experienced. I have got a copy of the original soundtrack in my music collection now... and that is about the only redeeming quality of this production as far as i am concerned. The film itself is hardly worth watching apart from a little bit of comedic value by Tom Waits i suppose.
It was pretty poignant and very well made indeed with good acting overall. However i really don't get how it gets rated 9 on IMDb at the time of my writing this, i mean... that would make it a timeless masterpiece in my book, and that is pretty far from being the case. Way over-rated film which may be due to the fact that the movie hardly gets any press coverage (or so did i read) so yeah... that's one way to balance things out i guess. People say it is heart wrenching and all that but i found it no more or less difficult to watch than any other war drama. Definitely worth a watch... I give it a 6.5/10.
