This is not for everyone. The first season is the easiest to follow, but still challenging. The story is told in music, symbols, images and occasionally in words. It's rare for successful commercial artists to be given the freedom to be this abstract and creative in producing a Marvel Universe character. They took full advantage to do so. You are experiencing the show through the eyes and mind of the main character who supposedly has schizophrenia, and is trying to fathom his evolving immense superpowers. You will never see another show like it, if you can bear the frustration and loss of control of the journey that is the mind of a schizophrenic super being. Well that's my brief interpretation of it anyway...
If you're into fast paced action movies then this may not be your cup of tea. It's slow, intense but beautifully done. The folk music and the 2 main actors are the highlights for me. It's a love story between 2 men early last century. Not bad for 2 straight guys playing the leading roles. Both brilliant.
I've been watching Trek since the 1980s and love them all. I am not a big fan of prequels, but I must say this series has greatly exceeded my expectations. Great stuff!
